AR-G2: Bard - Short description
The AR-G2 rheometer is a stress-controlled instrument. Due to its fast electronic feedback it can also be used in strain-controlled mode. It is a versatile instrument, suited for a wide range of studies in soft condensed matter. Some of its characteristics are:
- Real-time raw data capture.
- Easy to use, many geometries to choose from.
- Reliable measurements with
Things to remember
- Turning on the AR-G2 (must be done in this order)
- Turn on the Air supply (should be 30 psi)
- Unlock the draw rod
- Turn on the Rheometer electronics
- Turn on the water pump for the Peltier
- Turning off the AR-G2 (must be done in this order)
- Turn off the Rheometer electronics
- Lock the draw rod finger tight
- Turn off the water pump for the Peltier
Using the AR-G2 ("Bard")
- Get training
- Reserve it
- If anything unusual happens during use, please ask one of the people responsible for the rheometers. If the main air pressure drops below 70 psi, stop all measurements, do not touch the tools and contact one of the following emergency contacts:
- Harvard facilities office: (617) 495-2840
- Harvard Police (during the night): (617) 495-1212
Measuring Geometries
All available tools can be used on either the "Bard" or the "Druid" AR-G2 rheometers.
