If you are new to the group, please see the information for new lab members here.
If you are already a lab member, you can find many of the useful protocols, inventories, and other information on the wiki. Please contact Naveen Sinha if you need access.
You can find your assigned lab job on this document, and accompanying descriptions here.
Seminars:
- Group Meeting: Group meeting is held weekly. Here is a schedule of presenters and general information.
We sponsor an informal seminar every Wednesday -- the
squishy physics and pizza night. Pizza is provided. To learn more and
check the schedule of speakers, check out our
"Squishy Physics Talks" webpage.
Sometimes we go to these talks too:
- Physics Department Colloquium
- SEAS Talks
- Department Chemistry and Chemical Biology - Physical Chemistry Seminar
- FAS Center for Systems Biology Talks
- da Vinci Group Monthly Lunches
- Kavli Meetings
Or check out the Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS) webpage for links to many many more great seminars.
The New England Complex Fluids Workgroup is another great resource.
Facilities:
We have a number of facility instruments available in our group. We encourage other groups and researchers who have an interest in using these facilities to contact us to schedule experiments. In the past we have had many groups from within and outside the university, including industrial scientists, use these instruments. We enjoy getting know our neighbors while doing new and interesting science! We can help you get started or do a quick study, and we will train you if you have a long-term project so you can come by as often as you need. Our current facility equipment includes:
- Weitzlab Rheology Center
- ALV Light Scattering Facility
- Fast Cameras
- Equipment and Lab Duty Contact List
Group Theses:
- Suliana Manley - Mechanical Stability of Fractal Colloidal Gels
- Peter Lu - Gelation and Phase Separation of Attractive Colloids
- Michael Nikolaides - Colloids at Liquid-Liquid Interfaces
- Vikram Prasad - Weakly Interacting Colloid Polymer Mixtures
- Megan Valentine - Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of Biological Materials
- Vernita Gordon - Measuring and Engineering Microscale Mechanical Responses and Properties of Bio-relevant Materials
- Margaret Gardel - Elasticity of F-Actin Networks
- Bivash Dasgupta - Microrheology and Dynamic Light Scattering Studies of Polymer Solutions
